Turmeric, a plant in the ginger family, is native to Southeast Asia and is grown commercially in that region. Ours is USDA certified organic, sourced from alpine growers in Nepal and from local growers in the Finger Lakes. Historically, turmeric was used in Ayurvedic medicine and other traditional South Asaian medical systems, as well as Eastern Asian medical systems such as traditional Chinese medicine.
Due to its intense flavor profile, along with ACV, Turmeric tonic can be difficult to get down. Dilution is key. Here some additional suggestions: Dilute further, add some OJ or other fruit juice, add some stevia water, mineral water, add a fruity shrub… you get the picture. Also goes well with non dairy smoothies and kombucha.
We make our own piperine, a months long cold water extract of black pepper, very clean compared to other commercial preparations.
