He then brought his new bride to Buffalo where they raised six children. \u003c\/span\u003eEven though traditional Mexican food was hard to acquire in Buffalo Mercedes did her best to find the ingredients she needed to prepare dishes for her family. Mercedes wanted to pioneer one of the first Mexican restaurants in Buffalo so in 1980 Mercedes and her son Charles opened Gramma Mora's Mexican Restaurant on Niagara Street near Hertel Avenue.
